Nintendo patents a new device - new handheld or NX controller?

Nintendo has filed a new patent(seen above)that strikingly resembles a handheld. The device in the patent is actually a touchscreen with haptic feedback but you can add a peripheral on top of it to add physical buttons if needed.

Of course the main question is if this is a new handheld or maybe the controller to the NX? Can it be the mobile device rumored to be part of the NX?

If it is a handheld or controller hopefully they add a second circlepad for better gameplay.

Also keep in mind that Patents are regularly patented to keep ideas safe from people & companies stealing and r using them ad this patent could be the real deal or it could go nowhere but we'll find out in time!
