Rumor: Nintendo Switch to have GameCube Virtual Console
Another day another Nintendo Switch rumor! This time the rumor comes from Tom Phillips of EuroGamer,who has heard from 3 individual sources all saying the same thing,that the Nintendo Switch will have GameCube virtual console.
According to Tom,Nintendo already has 3 GameCube titles ready and running on the Switch which are Super Mario Sunshine,Luigi's Mansion, and Super Smash Bros Melee. Similar to Wii to Wii U transferring of VC titles,it'll be the same on the Switch,where you'll simply pay a small fee to "upgrade" your existing VC titles.
EuroGamer has also heard that the team handling the Virtual Console for the Switch is none other than Nintendo European Research & Development(NERD) who handled the simulation of the NES Classic Mini.
The original Animal Crossing is also planned for Virtual console and is an interesting subject as the game itself has classic NES games you can collect and play in the game. So technically speaking you'll be emulating an NES game thru an emulated GameCube game.
Finally Nintendo is looking into the GameCube adapter,that was released for Wii U a while back, to work on the Nintendo Switch.
